The Lazarus Union (CSLI), an international NGO holding General Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC, has reaffirmed its commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Moving into 2026, the organization has pivoted its humanitarian efforts to align more directly with several key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on grassroots impact and international cooperation.
Core Areas of Action
The Union’s latest initiatives focus on four primary pillars designed to bridge the gap between global policy and local implementation:
* SDG 4: Quality Education – Through its regional divisions, such as the Indian delegation has played active role of channelising youth towards understanding topics related to UN fundamentals, International Relations and Diplomacy. Lazarus Union also have its academy which delivers multiple short courses related to health and emergency services.
* SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions – Leveraging its unique position within the UN framework, the Union continues to advocate for human rights and ethical conduct, fostering transparent institutions through its global network of delegates in Vienna, Geneva, and New York.
* SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – The Union is expanding its collaborative framework, working with governments and other NGOs to share resources and strategies for disaster relief and social equity.
* Climate & Environment – In line with the UN Global Compact, the organization has integrated eco-friendly logistics into its humanitarian missions to reduce its carbon footprint.
A Vision for 2030
With only five years remaining to meet the UN’s 2030 targets, the Lazarus Union is emphasizing "Social Responsibility" as its guiding principle. The leadership has called on its worldwide membership to engage in "conscious remembrance and recognition," ensuring that humanitarian aid is not just a temporary fix but a sustainable contribution to community resilience.
Indian delegation Commander in Chief Dr.Dinesh Sabnis quoted "By aligning our charitable work with the SDGs, we ensure that every action contributes to a larger, more permanent global impact"
